My jack dempsey has layed eggs almost 3 days ago. The eggs have not hatched yet. Yesterday, i did a 30% waterchange to get all the crap off the bottom on the tank and make sure the fry had good water quality when they hatched. Well, there was only about 20 eggs that were white before i did the water change, and the next mourning almost half the eggs were white. If the eggs were infertile, wouldnt they all be white by now? Would a water change cause some of the eggs to turn white?

hers were 3 days ago my bet she will give up on hers tomorrow. not all were white when she started but they are now. i feel so sorry for her.

I'm jealous! Mine haven't made it that far, whatcha feeding them?

I'am trying to breed a ebjd male with a common jd female.

Feed them alot of meats! Bloodworms, brine shrimp, anything high in protein. I feed my fish cooked shrimp and it get them into breeding condition in about 3 weeks. My females had huge bellies full of eggs and pretty much had to lay them somewhere. I had two pairs breed already, and a third female with a huge belly bugging the male in her tank to breed with her. I fed them cooked frozen shrimp usually 4-5 times a week and hikari gold pellets. If you get your females nice and fat and full of eggs they will have to breed.

My female is actually an EBJD and the male is a BG, they have breed before and the eggs hatched. I moved them into a smaller tank and this is there first time in the smaller tank. If the eggs dont hatch by tomorrow, i think they are infertile. I think the remaining ones that are not white might be fertile still
