Well my Dempsey pair finally spawned and almost 2 months later they are starting to eat/ attack one another. Does anyone know why? I feed them three- five times a day with a serving of micro pellets, a serving of micro wafers and daphnia every other day. I need to find a way how to prevent them from dying does anyone know how to?

he is probably ready to spawn again and she's not ready, hence the aggression. You can separate them with a divider with a hole big enough for the female to squeeze thru, it will give her some where to run when the male gets to aggressive. What I did with my breeding Carpintis was add in 6 dither fish to the tank and give the male something else to chase. What ever you decide to do do it soon before one of them flips the kill switch and destroys the other.

^ +1, but the bigger fry are saving you time culling by eating the smaller messed up ones. Some people keep em together a while before sorting so you don't have to cull so many yourself later

Most fish are opportunistic feeders, meaning they eat when they it's available. Aquarium fish should always be ready to eat. If they aren't, it is usually a sign of overfeeding or sickness. Fry are especially opportunistic as well since they are basically growing nonstop.
