I decided to leave the fry with the parents this time.and now most of them are in a top corner. They don't seem distressed, and mom and dad are still trading off positions, numbers are good in the tank. Should I pull them? No one seems to be eating them but they are acting weird.

I bred african mouth brooding cichlids before, and i ended up seperating them and putting them in a grow out tank. Easier to feed them in a smaller tank i found. Either way they will be protected by their parents in the tank theyre in right now

Congrats! If this is their first spawn I would leave them alone so parents get experience. If parents start getting rough with each other use divider to separate.

From experience if you want a high chance of all fry living take out the parents. Sometimes when they want to spawn again can be two weeks from laying they might spawn again and they will eat the fry so the new batch can come. They will breed again if you take out the fry quicker.

Depending what you want to do really. If you want to keep and sell fry take them out if you want some to live and grow out leave them in there.

I breed to sell and I keep the ones I think are nice. I'll keep maybe 10 grow them out and keep a pair.

Good luck and make sure you do water changes frequently they will grow much faster

I totally agree with Ihsnshaik. Jack Dempseys were one of the first cichlids I had in my late teens-early twenties and having them breed is likely what kept me interested in cichlids to this day although I only have African cichlids at the moment.
I used to raise the fry apart from the parents and sell them off. The market was not strong for them so I did not get much for them and now I think back and wonder if many were bought for use as feeder fish.
