I have an approximately 4” JD and 3” GT right now. Since I have had them, the JD would always chase the GT away if he got in his space. Today was the first day that I saw the GT stand his ground and they went head to head for a little bit. To me it looked like the GT won that showdown because the JD was backing down slowly. I did notice as this was going on that the JD was getting darker as this was going on. Could this possibly mean I have a male and female? From what I have read I was under the understanding that JDs darken up more if they are comfortable/not stressed and visa versa with GTs? Any opinions on this? Thanks!

female JD due to blue bearding. GT is a bit small to sex.
I see I see. So they have pretty much constantly been going at each other now. Locking lips and everything. Guess they are just fighting over dominance?

What size tank do you have them in?
