So I purchased this guy 4.5 years ago. He was the perfect fish - didn't mess w/ anyone, but wouldn't take any crap either. That ended up getting him sick, as he would not back down in the 135 from my wife's larger Flowerhorn. That got him sick and moved to the 300. He was more bloated than any fish I had ever seen survive, w/ white stringy poo. I was ready to give up as it was too much to treat the whole tank and is a monumental effort to catch anything out of there - didn't think about that when aquascaping.
Anyway, I came across an old posting by RD on using epsom salt with distilled water and letting the food soak. It worked wonders, and I followed it up w/ soaking food in metro and focus. Below are the pics in the following order:
1) At 1.5 years old
2) At 2.5 years
3) At 3 years
4) The bully in timeout
5) The 12" bully and his new girl in the 135
6
) At 4.5 years and now healthy in the 300 - approx. 8.5-9 inches TL
