I’m starting to second guess myself on if this is a jd, I’ve tried looking up pics of one that’s looks like this and I can’t, he’s about 9 months old and I’m assuming he’s forming a nuchal hump.
I’m buying a 75 gallon he’s in a 30 at the moment, and I plan on adding a green terror with him that’s about 3-4 inches long, the jacks about 6 ish give or take. Is that a good idea?

Not a Jack Dempsey. Looks like a Kamfa flowerhorn. Only way to tell sex would be to vent. If its been kept in a tank alone it will be hard to add tankmates now. Do you have a backup plan/tank for the green terror?

Yes I plan on putting the green terror in the 30 till he gets to size if he was to be bullied

Not sure size will matter. Most flowerhorn are very territorial and will kill any tankmates. I don't think any other cichlid will survive in a 75 gallon with it. The flowerhorn of male can get to 12" and quite thick when full grown. Most females get around 8" with most of the same attitude.

Ohhh dang okay man, thankyou so much for the info

No problem. As always it could work. Flowerhorn make up is based on amphilophus so most have an attitude like a red devil or trimac. Great wet pet, and beautiful fish.

Welcome aboard

Welcome to the forum!
I agree that the fish pictured is a flowerhorn. I wouldn’t bother with tankmates in a 75, fh are known for being terrible with others. A similar looking fish like a gt would just be asking for trouble.

You have a nice looking cichlid thats gonna only get bigger and meaner. It would be best to keep him alone in that 75g imo. No way he permanently tolerates another large cichlid in that size tank.

Welcome to MFK!
As most members have said that is a FH and if he's only 6in he's pretty thick already, a 75 gallon is perfect for a FH as a wet pet and he will have the best personality in there by himself.
I have to ask who told you that was a JD? and how did you buy that fish not knowing that was a FH?
Not trying to be rude here but i would do more homework on fish keeping is the tank cycled?
