Jack Dempsey or Umbriferum ?

There a fish at the LFS and the staff said it was a Dempsey, but it looks like a an Umbriferum, sorrry forgot to get pics, Is there a way to determine the species ? any distinguishing marks ?

Umbees will have a much more pointed snout and a spot in the middle of the body and on the Upper half of the tail. They really look nothing alike so distinguishing the two is quite simple.

Sorry forgot to say jds can show the same spots but umbees are rounder and more uniform

go to goggle images for each fish. as they say a pic I'd worth 1000 words. if its a umbee for sale as a jd BUY IT .

Don't understand how this comment was rude but anyway, yea if you google images of both fish there shouldn't be a whole lot of confusion. They do look very different.
