Jack Dempsey ready to breed????

hello i have 3 jack dempseys along with other fish in my tank, i beleive two are females and one is male since he is so much bigger but one of the females turned black two days ago and now she is mostly dark with some of her normal color, does this mean she is ready to breed? I had no intention of breeding them but it would be very exciting if thats whats going on!

Should i remove them fromt he tank?

will snails pose a threat to the eggs??

Snails will definitly eat the eggs if they get to them, and they will do it at night. Plecos and Snails are notorious egg eaters.

aahhhhh!!! thank you so much for telling me that, i just picked out all the snails and put them in a plastic guppy breeder holder thing lol WE dont have any plecos bc they were sucking on our fish :/

my other female is starting to get dark also, will the male breed with her also?

Congrats! make sure to feed them either BBS, finely crushed flake, or some other small food once they become free swimming!
