I need help figuring out what sexs my JDs are. the picture shows the deferences pretty well. After they liplocked this one time they just follow each other around the tank not really chacing. the right one has some minor nipping on it and the left one is almost always black now. any help?

thats great news!!! now is there anything i should do so that the female dosent get hurt? their almosts the same exact size right now the female may be a little bit bigger.

I see one definite female (on the right) the one on the left needs a better photo to be 100% certain of the sex. It could be a male or a female showing less gill plate color.

In my opinion there is no way to 100% sex the fish on the left from the photo given.

Just make sure that there are some caves or pieces of wood where she can go. But since she may be bigger, it may not stop the smaller male from following her. In my experience with breeding JD, they are generally not aggressive with their mates past the initial breeding behavior. You should be okay. Any other tankmates may be chased a bit once they spawn.

Awesome. Male and female for sure. The male will get more of the blue specs on his body as he matures. They both look pretty young under 2".
