I have a 100g tank with good hiding spots. I have 4 silver dollars, 1 firemouth, 1 jack dempsey and one oscar. The oscar and jack are roughly 4-5 inches now. The Jack Dempsey isn't overly aggressive (his attacks seem to just make sure the oscar knows his pecking order) but he does get a good one in every so often that will leave behind a small mark that seems to heal itself in a couple days. My question is, will adding a second cichlid with simular temperment as the jack divert his focus off the oscar? I try and keep the water temp just below 80 as I have heard 80+ will make the jack more aggressive. I know temperments are based per fish but I was wondering what others have done in the situation of keeping an oscar and jack together. Thanks for your help folks

Try a convivt they r small enough not to kill ur oscar but have gonads of steel and will stand up to ur jack eventlly the oscar should out grow the jack faster and make him think twice
