I have a male and a female JD of about the same size. The male is about 5" and the female is probably 4". They share a tank with a big pleco and a small turtle. Everyone got along fine until yesterday when the male JD started really going at the female. I had to isolate her because she's gotten so beaten up. Anybody have any solutions?

Sounds like he wants to spawn and she's not ready. Keep her isolated for a while, then try reintroducing her. Mine do this to each other quite regularly when ones ready to spawn and the other isn't.
Thanks for the fast response Gator. I was about to give them a larger tank with out the turtle, the lower stress there might help??
