have both love both depends on the environment i guess, my experiences with jd have been laid back and non confrontational, carpintis are awesome and sometimes evil first fish i ever hand feed so i will allways like them cant go wrong imo.

Spawning coloration is awesome, regular colors are awesome, less skittish. Never been a big JD fan.

I like both ,better chance of JD not being real aggressive,so better in a community ,but as a centerpiece -solo ,both are REALLY cool fish.
