Hi All,

I have a JD with a bulge that is progressively getting bigger. It is difficult to get a photo, but has anyone seen anything like this before or any suggestions on what to do? Could it be a bacterial cyst?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

My water parameters are:
pH 8.0
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate 5 ppm
I do weekly water changes at ~50%

Could you try to get a pic from a forward facing angle to give an idea on size?
Is the fish swimming/acting alright?
Looks like it could be a tumor or the result of an injury.

At first I thought it was an injury, but it has been a couple of months and it has only gotten larger

Maybe it’s the pic but kind of looks like a short body. If it’s acting normal then monitor if it’s pooping normal.
