jack dempsey worms???

my 3 year old jack dempsey has recently had what looked like ich on his head but it seemed to poke out about 1 1/2mm , fall off then left a small hole. he was quite itchy, still eating normally,is his normal self apart from the itching, the water quality is good, he has 7 scars on his head now and i thought it may have been anchor worm but it didnt look like any of the photo's i have seen.... sorry no photo! i have no camera.
any help or ideas would be great

Sounds like a disease I had a while back, look up "Fish Nodular Disease", make sure you put in fish or you will pull up some other nasty stuff from Nodula Disease in Humans, anyways, I hope its not that because their is no cure and you must destroy the fish, Not trying to scare you just trying to help.
