I know someone who had a almost 11in one in a 55gal made the tank look to small for the poor guy.I believe he was 8yrs old or more.

on MFK or in then world i juat saw a 10''-11'' male at a LFS not to long ago great lookin fish it had awesome colors

males will reach atleast 10'' some will reach a little over 12'' but this is rare

about6 or more years old, spine started curving after8-9", spent a few summers in outdoor pond-700gal, died for no apparent reason recently, i got him at 4-5", that fish you see near him is a 5" ebjd for size reference, the heater is 1" thick

big jack 006 (Small) (6).jpg

wow big JD theres prof right there for all the peole who say they can't get 12'' i'd be worried that it would eat the little electric blue JD

Thats that bad thing about JDs is that its becomeing more and more common for them to get the spine curvature like that if you wan't a cuallity JG you need to get wild ones petsmart JDs all moat allways end up like that but that one still looks awesome

IF u wanted could he still breed??

Um, that fish is dead. Anyway, I have a camera shy 10 inch male. Maybe I'll try to get him out of the water for an official measurement.

I have a real old 8.5" female with a slightly bent spine and weird nose...

I have an 8.5" Male who is about 2 years old and looks very nice...

I have an 8.5" Blue male who is about 2 years old and looks very nice...

I would say typical adult size is 7" for a female and 9~10" for a male... with up to 2" larger for either not being uncommon...

I have one that is around 11" approximately. He shares the tank with 2 females, one is 9" and the other around 8". Here is some pics, what you think?:headbang2
