Yes, you should be able to. Also check their lower jaw, is there lot's of blue down there or not. Where the 'chin' is. If there's a blue 'beard', it's a female. If there's no blue 'beard', it's a male.
The easiest way to sex them is to look at the blue on their gill plate. If it runs from top to bottom then it's female, if it stops half way down then it's male. Usually the males blue will be small spots, and a females will sort if run together
hmm ok i kno for sure that one of them is a female she has a ton of blue on her gill plate. but the male im still a little unsure..i cant post a pic cause i dont have a camera. will 2 male's or 2 female's swim together all the time and follow each other around closley?? that do that in my tank there constantly following each other and hiding together..the have no signs of breeding or mating so idk..just seems like there friends and they just follow after one another
yes thank you i do have 2 female's...at what size are they mature.. should i get a male. if so what size ??? any sign i could loook for in getting a male weather smaller or bigger??
