Ok so around a month ago I bought two 1" jack dempseys and I had believed it was a male and female but now im questioning if they are both males so I have this one cave which the smaller one hides in all the time. The larger one is around 2.5" and the small one is 1.5". So the one grows quicker than the other one and now all of a sudden when the little one comes anywhere near the big one it chases the little one all around the tank sometimes biting its sides. Should I get rid of the small one? I am afraid it will soon die because all it does is get bullied. I am starting to get worried. They are in a very well filtrated 55 gallon fish tank. They are alone in the tank other than three turtles which don't bother them at all because they are too quick if anything the jds bother the turtles. The big one competes with the turtles for food actually. So I need to know if I should get rid of the small one or keep him or her and if this is normal. They have plenty of hiding places so they aren't stressed. So is this normal or should I swap the small jd for a bigger one to put the other one in it's place? Or should I just let nature take it's course I might keep them both and get a big one to keep the big one in place. Or should I just buy another fish that can beat the one douche bag fish up. What would you recommend I'm getting a 120 gallon and I'm putting the turtles in my pond. So what fish can I keep with the jds an it will survive and possibly conquer. What do you think? No comments on tank size the tank is fine for now and I lost my Oscar to the turtles so no more Oscar
. But i want something that can conquer this one douche jd I was thinking a cichlid but could do a lmb until he gets too big then I'll release him back to my pond
