Blue beard usually means female- top picture looks like a female to me (see the blue covering gill plate) but the bottom picture doesn't have the beard and looks male.
I am not sure. Could you get a couple of current pictures that show the gill plate well?

That’s weird I looked at it and thought female top and male bottom. Your fish has two faces. Now I couldn’t even guess.
I agree, top pic looks female, bottom male.
Could be reflection off the blue gravel in the pics.
I edited them to show the relevant area better for others to compare, and chime in.
The first photo came out too blurry to bother with.
If you could get a sharply focused shot with the lower jaw showing, it would help.
