Can Jack Dempsy and an Electric Blue Cichlid breed? I've heard of Electric Blue Jack Dempsys but I dont know if they are bred by mixing each type, or if they are an actually different breed? Can someone also tell me what species of fish can breed with Electric Blue Cichlids, Parrot Cichlids, Jack Dempsy, Upside Down Cats, Earth Eaters, and Green Terror Cichlids?

Electric blue Cichlids are different then EBJD, you have to breed a normal JD with EBJD to get blue gene JD's. Then you have to get another pair of JD/EBJD, then breed 2 blue gene together (one from each of pairs) This is because inbreeding is out of control.

Right now i am collecting EBJD from different parts of the US, from different breeders in hopes to find 2 of them that arnt from the same line, and try to breed them together. I have read of an account of this working, and if more and more people do it, we wont have weak EBJD from the result of inbreeding.

"Electric Blue Cichlid" is a common term for a particular species of African Cichlid...

"Electric Blue Jack Dempsey" is a common name for a Blue morph (recessive phenotype following Mendelian genetics) of the common Jack Dempsey...

The African "Electric Blue Cichlid cannot mate with a (Central American) Jack Dempsey...

The "Electric Blue Jack Dempsey" is the same species as the common Jack Dempsey and they can be bred together...
