i think they'd be alright as tankmates, Gt's can get a bit aggresive depending on the fish, but jd's should be able to take that just fine. I have never seen them spawn but if they did the result would probably be just gorgeus being that the too fish are extremely colorful.
 
i had a gt and jd together when they were both about 2" and they were fine but i dont know about when they get bigger and become more aggressive. and if they were to breed that would be awesome.
 
Well I usually ask questions before I do things, but I bought 3 of each, and I guess I'll find out in a couple hours wether or not they get along, and If they breed I'll let you know.
 
yeah you'll be fine, i have 1 5-6inch male jd with a gt 4-5inch in a 2ft tank. i know its too small but thats why theres a 120 cycling next to them:)
i would be concerned they both get 8inch atleast
depends on what sex they are and nether like males of the same species. just a heads up:)
 
Ok thats pretty much a unanomous answer. So here's another question. How about either of these full grown, and oscars? I'v had some other stuff in with my oscars, and they did pretty good.
 
i had a jd and gt set up for 6 monthes, they got allong for a few monthes, but in due time the gt wanted to make my dempsey its b*tch,,,,

they would fight and fight till i had to go get a 40 for my jd, (im not gettign rid of him)

so from my experience ,,, no

but its worth a shot cause both fish kick ass, and if you can get them to co exist then your golden
