Jack Demspey growth rate?

Here is some background info

65 gallon tank( dimensions are weird,it's 4 ft. Long)
1 Jack Dempsey- most people say male
1Electic Blue Jack Dempsey- don't know
1 Convict-Female
1 Firemouth- Female

Yes, it's overstocked, I had issues with shipping and they sent me the EBJD by accident.

Diet: New Life Spectrum, Omega One, API pellets

Flirtation: 2 Aqueon 75's (400 GPH each) (looking into getting a marineland 360 soon)

WC schedule: 2 50% a week (possibly 3 if I have the time)

AQ advisor says I'm 102% stocked although I don't believe that.

it's fine. just keep up on your WCs. Males grow a bit faster than females and ultimately larger, but you should expect about 1/2" per month if you're doing everything correctly

To be honest dempseys grow like weeds, I had one that had a rough first few months of life until I got him he hit 9 inches in around 2 years. I've known people who had them in poor conditions and still grew them big. If you take care of him he will be big quick

IMO JDs are pretty fast growing. I've never understood why some people say they are slow growers.

Yeah, I suppose what you compare them to. I'm used to really slow growing cichlids.
But some cichlids like v. melanura, p. Loisellie, and h. Deppii grow much faster than JD IME.
