This is not my jack denpsey it is at a school in a 10 gallon that is not
Treated right. I am just wondering. What this is is it fungi or infection please tell me I don't want this to happen to my jd

looks like its missing scales to me, but without seeing it in person I wouldn't know. I'm also no fungal pro either so it could be that also. I'd say try google it or find some books on JDs.
 
jesus looks like that guy needs a tank mate for that 10 gallon , i'd try a silver arowana , maybe a few jags nothing says fun like company

in a 10gal?! no way lol the silver aro gets massive and even the jags get double the size of a JD.
maybe if his class upgraded tank size, but even 1 Jack Dempsey in a 10g is a bit too much. for long term atleast. as a juvenile he will be fine, but a mature JD should be kept in nothing smaller than a 30g in my opinion. some say a minimum of 55g.
 
....he was joking lol as for the JD go with a dosage of pimafix and melafix to cover the bases. Also please try to get that fish a bigger tank or out of that 10.
