My brother n law came over and said he thinks I have a male n female jag, that the male chasing the female and nipping is natural as long as he doesnt take chunks out she'll be fine, he only does it once in a while most time they swim side by side, is he right or should I seperate them

Yea kinda freaking out, first time ever trying to breed any fish so dont know the ins n outs, they are in a big tank though so that and hidding spots hope itll work out,

when jags get it on its pretty ruff I say they are fine else chunks are being taken out from one or scales etc.

I find them to get them to breed add lots of pots and 1 small water change on monday for example then a big one on sat with heavy feeding during the week. works for me
