So my female jag who is 9" and my male grammode who is 5" are protecting eggs in a pot as a pair.... Is this possible? Theyve been fanning each other and displaying and circling and have cleared half of my 110g of its gravel to one side and she laid eggs in a driftwood large cave on the clear bottom side of the tank. These two are completely acting like a pair and defending and taking turns inside the cave and surroundings. Can these eggs hatch?

Yes if there's a male and female the eggs will hatch with pure genotypes. Sometimes with hybrids like flower horns or with this creation fish can be born sterile, but, starting off with two separate but pure species that "take a likin to each other" they will hatch assuming the eggs were fertilized by the male fish.

My female jag produced offspring with my male Texas...Grammodes appear to be a more similar species... So I would think that you will get fry ...I should have wrote it all down but I remember it taking longer than the normal amount of days for the eggs to hatch.... Mine spawned through a divider and we're never together as a "family"...it will be interesting to see if yours carry out the full parental duties...
