So while scrounging craigslist the other day with a buddy I run across this post:
30 gallon tank, everything but stand and comes with MASSIVE jaguar cichlid 6" with 8 babies
So I was like damn, we need to get that thing out of there. We went over and split it 50/50 (she was only asking 60 bucks) the tank was actually only a 20 gallon that was literally almost half filled with gravel, the water was green and smelt strongly of ammonia, but shockingly enough the big jag was beautiful and the babies looked pretty healthy. if that wasn't bad enough he's closer to 8" than 6. She said the female was about the same size and just died a week ago. My friend has the Jag in his 55 for now and plans to upgrade this summer and I kept the babies to try to grow out to sell to the LFS. Just figured I'd share the good deed. Babies ranging from .25" to .75"
