we are in the process of doing a water change and the Jag decided the Python tube has no place in the tank....he attacked it and blood started coming out of his gills....I've never seen this before. Is it a defence mechanism, because it stopped less than a minute after it started but it was coming out pretty thick......

Is there anything that I should do as a precaution????
thanks for your help everyone, I hope he is ok:eek:

How is he now? cant say how much blood they have total, but it sounds like he did cut himself somewhere....in his mouth? kinda like a fish on a hook amount of blood? Cant say any blood for anything is a good thing
Good luck

I hope it's not the one in the great picture.

yea, thats my only Jag...

he is acting 100% normal, and the bleeding was only for a short time but scared the hell out of me lol...

I'll add some salt like Steve said just to be safe.
