i realize that i have been posting a lot of completely different threads, and this one tops them all, but i am just not sure on how i want to stock my 75 gal yet. i know for sure that i want to have 1 M/4 F Socolofi, but other than that i am trying to decide between 1 Ahli and 1 M/4 F E. Yellows, or 1 Jag Cichlid. so first of all: will the socolofi survive with the jag? and can a jag survive in a 75 gal tank?

No the 29 could not house the oscar. Maybe for a month if it is small. No pair of Ahlis. They will most likely pick off your other fish. Also, it is very hard to find females. I have 2.

First off, keep South/Central americans seperate from Africans. If you are considering Jags, definately look for a larger tank. Male Jags average 21-24" in captivity and the females about 18". Aswell, they are very territorial and will battle for dominance.

I agree with the first statements but those Jag sizes are exagerated. A male will usually max out about 15-18" in captivity and a female more like 12-13" or so.
