jag cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
once their full grown they usually get those colours that the full grown jags have.
are you talking the male or females jags though.
i prefer the look of a male jag.

mine is at 11" and is starting his adult colouration i think... losing his large black spots and getting more smaller one seems like (my avatar is before this started happening lol)

Jags happen to be a duller fish in terms of color IME, so i'm assuming your typeing about the "blue sheen" jaguars get on there fins?

simply put- some get the sheen, some do not.

some get it quicker and younger than others, some do not.

if your fish gets a sheen, it could be 4" it could be 14". Wait and see.

while your waiting for your jags to grow into there "sheen" or "colors" aswell as proper and accurate sexing size, you will also want to look into buying a larger tank. no adult jaguar can be kept in a 55 gallon aquarium.
