Jag colouration

How long does it take or how big is a jag need to be before it gets its 'jag' patteren.

I have dark substract, drifft woood and the jag isnt the domiant fish if any of that matters.

The ones I've kept generally get their patterns established at 4".

ive been wondering the same thing i have a 2" and he still just has some detached black spots along the side and a shiney blue hue to his silver parts....weirdo

4 or 5" or so, it'll start to show. Dminance doesn't matter, really. Mine was a pussy cat until he hit about 6", then he started getting some attitude. But he already had his patterns showing before the attitude. Also, the blue isn't a bad thing. The prettier jags have lots of blue trimming to the fins.

Ok then he is about 4-5.5 inches and had lots of blue on his body thats turned yellowish and still got blue in his fins. he hasnt got any jag spots/blockes yet and hasnt lost his bars. And if its a girl it will keep some bars any wont it?

He/She is agressive and dominates the small con and festa but doesnt challange the bigger jd or gt.
And Damn any thats owned a oscar and thinks there pigs and grow fast my jag the biggest pig of a fish ive owned and growing faster than any oscar iv owned.
