Thousands of my free swimming jag babys disappeared on me. I looked all over the tank for them. Not to be found. Gone 2 days.
Tonight I pulled out a filter cartridge out of my whisper to see how dirty it was. Thousands of babys came flowing out of there.
In my several years of raising fish I have had luck with Convicts, Texans, and now Jags. I have never found fry in my filters until tonight.
Per-filters on all my intakes now.

Update All fry looking good except for the ones that didn't look good last night, I think they may have been picked out and eaten because I don't see them on the floor.
Amazing how good they look for having been threw the impeller.

LOL, at least you were able to save them. I've heard of fry using hob filters as intakes. as soon as it spits them out they'd swim back to the intake. I can't remember if I read that somewhere or it was a friend of mine that had it happen.

Soon as I lifted that cartridge they flowed out by the thousands.
I made sure to cover the intakes with filters.

there's not a more impressive sight that a pair of large cichlids around a cloud of fry. great pic, and good job with your jags
