how long on average does it take for a jaguar cichlid to reach about 150mm (6 inch) and how long before they make about 300mm (1 ft)?

the jag I had got to 6" in about 6 months or so. it started slowing down a bit from there and was 9" by the time I had to get rid of it. 
I don't remember exactly how long but it was no more than a year I don't think. I got it when it was probably around 1.5".
