Ok folks I have two jags in a 180 along with a pleco. 1 jag is 6 inches the other about 4. The 6 incher is tormenting the smaller one. I will be rehomeing one of them soon. Which one should i keep. I am wanting other tankmates. If I keep the bigger one(male) It will probably have to be non cichlid fish. Any recomendations?

The smaller one will just resume tank dominance if you remove the bigger one. You could try to elliminate line of sight by adding decor( plants, rocks etc..). Jags are no joke. Mean and tenatious. I dont know, but maybe add MORE fish...distraction? 2 jags and a pleco in a 180 should give plenty of room for territories but maybe not. Putting more fish in there( tough fish) may work.
Best of luck!!

i agree with boldtogether, a jag is a jag. even if you take the bigger one out, the smaller one will most likely act take over. one really cool fish that my cichlids have always ignored are bichirs. p. senegalus is the easiest to find and the most active in the day. they max out at 12in, but more commonly are around 10in. but a tank of that size shouldn't have much trouble fitting any bichirs.

if you wanna see good decriptions of bichirs: http://www.polypterus.info/

haha, definitely fake. the jags will destroy them. if you want you could try really tough cheap plants like anacharis, but expect them to be uprooted on a regular basis. (it will help a little with algae too)
