So im new to the whole breeding process. I have a male and a female jag that have recently laid eggs. But the thing is, i dont think the female allowed the male to get anywhere close to the eggs after she laid em to fertilize them. Last night when i notice her egg tube extending and her constantly cleaning the rock off, she wouldnt let the male come anywhere close to it. I woke up this mornin to thousands of eggs on the rock. Some of the eggs are already white (thinking that those are infertile?). Im just wondering is this normal behavior for her to not let the male close to em.

Not sure how different is with Jags than it is with JD's, and I am also quite new to this myself.

But when my JDs spawn both the parents are fending off anyone even trying to get near to their area.

From what I have heard with Jags is similar. Is this the first time they've spawned? Its possible that they are new to the whole thing.

Also any white eggs are not fertilized.

Good luck and keep me posted on how it all goes :)

yeah NBK this is the first time they have spawned. So after about 3 or 4 days if i dont see any black specs in the eggs its a "no go" then?
