Jag or not

My oscar got beat up realy bad by my fish (gold saum,JD, Con, festa) and i healed him but they kept giving a hard time so he had to got so i traded him for a jag (paid $8 for oscar and jarg $14 dollars price tag and the guy done a clean swap so good deal 4 me) The jag looks a bit odd to me now its got some blue tint on his cheek and anal+dorasl fin and looks very simiular to Phxcity dovi in phxicitys thread.

my question is what do u guys think he is pure jag? but i have very poor photos of him

Also can anybody sex my little festa has a few blue sparkles on its fins and around its eye spot from these poor quality photos? i also chuked in some old photos of him/her.

both fish are around 4 inches.

by the look of your picture,that doesnt look like a jag to me,i could be wrong though.i had a red terror,was sold to me as that at petsmart that looks like your festae

its a festae (red terror) im guessing a male coz of the spots through the fins

the first pic is definatley parachromis or has some parachomis in it, possibly a hybrid, if you could get clearer pics that would help.

the last pics are a male fesae.

Actually, I had exactly the same thoughts, the first pic looks like that of a female Parachromis Motaguense (Red Tiger) but too blurred to be able to confirm the markings.

The later pics are that of a festae, and congrats, these are a lot more difficult to find in lfs (for us in Singapore) than a jag which is very often easily available.

Yeah its defently a parachomis it just wierd iv never seen a jag with blue in it, and i dont know what the other parachomis look like young.

first few pics look like motaguense. Jags do have lots of blue in them.

my jag has blues, reds, and greens in it when the lights hit it right.
