Jag or Tiger Mota

I need some experienced opinions on these.

I’m trying to round out my room with one last tank for awhile. I’m torn on a pair of jags vs a pair of motas…male jag vs male mota. Jags, freddies, and motas are essentially the same fish give or take a few minor differences. I know motas get a little smaller, but what do yall think?

Obviously this is a matter of personal taste.

I like the Jag shape and colors / patterns much better.

I've owned all and I would say go motas just for their colors. There's no wrong choice just what your prefer more

Yeah it's pretty much a toss up with me...then again I've only seen motas in person and haven't owned either. I appreciate the opinions by the way

Tank size would be a factor. I however prefer motas over jags.

Mota over jag imo. I just perfer there patterns and color over jags.

Whenever someone asks my opinion my general answer is... i really can't say what you should do but i can say what i did in a similar situation....in this case although i like motas when i got the tank space i went jags...yeah i know that they are common... but a nice fish is a nice fish......

Tank size isn't an issue. I have a 150g ready for the mota/jag then once the dovii reachs 16in I'll bump him up to a 300g so that'll free up the 180g.

I have Jags, I love them...but I'd say go Mota. Jags are becoming so common now, everyone has heard how cool of a fish they are so everyone and their uncle has them. Motas are cool fish and far less common. Be a leader padiwan, not a follower.
