I just purchased a Jag and a Pike Cichlid for my SA agressive tank. I have an Oscar JD and GT every one gets along great the O is domenent but not aggressive he just likes to eat anything that will go in his mouth. I have a ten gal grow out I just want to get them big enough not to be eaten. The tank is just the basics sponge filter heater rock for sence of security. It has no gravel or hood. I plan to change 25% of the water daily to help with the growth. I have had the Jag 48hrs and the pike 24hrs and have not seen either one eat. First should I wory that they havent eaten yet? and second I want them to both add and inch or so as quick as possible what can I do to speed things up the Jag is about 1in and the pike is 3 1/2 in

i used a 20 gallon to start my dovii out in he was about 1" then moved him into a 55 gallon at 2" but it seemed like he grew faster in the bigger tank. and as for not eating i would give them a couple days might just be the stress of a new home, what temp is the tank? water test readings? and was the tank cycled befor putting them in? and are all the fish in the 10 gallon together?

Yea 10 gallon is too small for a growout for those 5 fishes. It looks like your pike already has some size already at 3"+ and not sure about the other fishes which were already in there. In that size tank, its definitely going to get hostile eventually.

If they're not eating its more than likely due to stress as others mentioned. You plan on getting a bigger tank?
