I am getting a 75 gallon and I am thinking about a jag. What kind of setup should I have? Also I want a male, so how many should I buy so that I will get a male and give away/sell the rest? Aand can I put a Red tailed shark in the tank with it just to see if it works out?

Thanks
Mike

I would leave the tank totally bare...maybe throw in a pot for it to hide. I have a dozen large (3-4") marbles in the bottom of the tank. Jumbo spend a lot of time pushing them around the tank.

Here's a recent shot. The color balance is off on the first shot:

Second shot is right on:

I like the bare tank look for the larger fish. Get a nice background...go sparingly on the gravel. Enough to push around...and you are good to go.

No to the Red Tail Shark. It's just eventually expensive food.

Great fish. Good luck and congrats for planning it out. Most don't.

That would be an awesome single speciman tank. I agree with what mojo said, go light on decor and focus on the fish. A male is definately the way to go. Here is a pic of my male.

I made the mistake of adding a red tail shark in with my jag. If you could have seen my jags expression when I opened the bag. "For me, you shouldn't have." I was like, "oh crap."
Expensive feeder is right. :owned:

i think hands down rallysman has the best jag..but mojo your is weird i like the dorsal fin..but go bare on the tank..

Dude this post is not meant to compare the 2 awesome jags being posted.:screwy:

If there's one word that describes jags, it's "digger".
Any gravel, rocks, plants that you put in the tank will be rearranged by your jag to suit his taste.
