I've had these guys for 6 monthes.
They were both 1.5 inches when I got them.
The larger one is about 8 inches and the small one is about 6 inches.
They having been digging in the sand like they are ready to spawn.
I've had a hard time getting decent pictures.
can they be sexed by thier body pattern?


This is the larger of the two. I'm guessing male?

Top one is tough to tell try to get a better[side] shot.
The second one looks like a female.
 
As of 1:45 pm they are now in thier own 50 gallon tank.
They were getting very aggressive with thier tankmates.
Any recommendations on how to set up the tank for spawning?

Turn the lights down. Light some candles. Put on some sessy music.

Be prepared to deal with the fry. And lots of them. Could be anywhere between 100 and 1,500.
