my little jag, he's maybe about 3 inches right now, got himself into troubble tonight.

i heard a strange noise coming from my office and went to check it out,,, it was one of my marineland filters,, for some reason it was running dry,,,
upon further investigation i notice that the lower half of the intake had come off and was at the bottom of the tank, but still submerged enough to take in water,,

so i pull the intake out and dont find any clogs, then when i reach into the hole that addapts to the intake i feel somthing slimey.. i think maybe its a rouge leaf so i start trying to pull it out,,, well when i got it,, it was the damn jag!!!!!!

he's back and happy now,, i think he is a idiot or somthing, everytime i do a vac he try's relentlessly to entrt the tube while im cleaning,, he is one curious bastard,, im starting to like him more and more,, him and the devil are starting to get allong real well,,, for now!

lol thats one jag that gots spunk to try entering an intake tube of a filter...lol XD you got yourself a nosey lil devil on your hands....keep an eye on him and make sure he dont try to make the inside of the filter where the filter cartridges go his home XD lmao

keep that filter covered it may not come out alive next time it it goes in head first it will be hard for it to breath and it won't last long
Mabye it need a place to hide?

Haha, I have heard of many fish entering intake tubes, never a Jaguar Cichlid. Glad you got it out in time.

you put a cave or something for it to take over and hid in....just for it to take its own instead of the intake tube lol but seriously you should add lots of cover for these lil guys....they like to hunt and wander around in a jungle...ya noe what i mean? well lets just say that they like lots of stuff around them like cavings holes...big one that can fit a jag in...uhmmm also dont put any real plants...they'll just get ruined...but you can add fake one...but still secure them as good as you can as these guys will dig it out when it starts to make a pit for it to sleep in and take as a territory....also be aware when you have lots of stuff around it will take its territory and be aggressive to anything getting in its way...but ya never know it could be a softy...=) Good Luck with the lil bugger lol

thanks,,, by the way,,, i have a obsured amount of hideing area for him... i have three caves and multible drift wood chunks building cedavers and siht,

He wanted to be like nemo and stop the filter with a pebble. Did he have a pebble that was clutched in his right fin? I bet he did. That was no suicide attempt. That was a premeditated plan of escape gone awry.
