On Thursday I took my Jag "Baby Jaguar" from his 55 Gallon and moved him into the 220 to live with the rest of his cichlid brothers, as he is still Alive and not in anyone's tummy I am calling it an official successful transplant. Normally the ones that don't make die either with in the first few seconds "Too small" or that first night lights out "Not fast enough". I looked long and hard to find this Jag so I let him grow an extra long time in the 55, but as someone else pointed out as fish in the grow out grow so do the fish in the main tank.

I have lost two fish moving, one was an Oscar he was to young really but he was killing fish in the grow out tank so he had to take his chances with the big boys, adn the other was a Tinfoil barb, he made it through the first day I thought he was fine, until the next morning I work up and saw his headless body.

Well my main tank has two fish that are to say the least not very accepting of new comers or each other for that matter, each owns one side of the tank, so new comes better hold their own. My 12" Oscar will chase and attack anything that comes into his space, he doesn't attack his lifetime tank mates but he does reminds them that the right side of the tank is his and they are not welcome. My 7" Texas is the meanest fish I have ever seen frequently goes to the right side of the tank and beats up the Oscar just for good measure, when he was about 5" he killed a 9" Oscar.

I have a 8" JD that has been turned into a meek fish as he is not allowed on the right side of the tank, and the Texas will kick his fins if he gets to close so most of the time he is hiding behind a rock or a tree.

Now the funny part is I have a 4" firemouth and 4.5" jewel that have no problems with anyone and are not really bothered by anyone, I have a 6" rainbow shark "My oldest fish" and I have never seen anyone so much as turn to bother him. And the two bala sharks that only seems to bother each other.
