I was going to get a new tank for my jag, and some friends, not sure what though. I was thinking about getting a standard 125 after christmas, and i was wondering what could go in there with a jag?

The jag i have, a manguense is pushing 3" right now and i have a carpinte growing out with him in a 55g tank. The carpinte is about 2", and i think they make great tankmates, so i was think these two, plus what else could go in there?

I was looking into getting a rhino pleco at the lfs, i saw some of these guys and was going to go get one. So with those three what else could go in there?

Was looking into an oscar, can find these anywhere, and a really cool fish but if you think that thats overstocked let me know, and any other suggestions you would have.

you can try smaller robust species like salvini, but any tankmates can be hit or miss...I would not go with oscars, they are too docile

bump looking for something a little bigger and more entertaining then a con any other ideas?

Well here's my 125G fish list, any of these tankmates will do:
1 Jag
2 Red Devils
2 Leporinus
2 Cons
1 Black Shark

As for the Oscar, wouldnt make you overstocked, just not sure they are tough enough to hang with a jag. Id go with a Black Shark, Devil or leporinus instead, all a better fit IMO.

the problem with those options is that if either the jag or red devil claims the whole tank there will be serious injuries, I'd rather go with something that might be more submissive towards the jag...something that can hold its own yet not be more aggressive.

^^ Well I suggested the Leporinus, what do you think about those? Max length 12 inches, definantly capable of defending themselves, and not necessarily instigaters. Although I will say that mine do go after my cons around feeding time lol

The only issue I have with them is that they are extremely nippy fish that can harrass other fish horribly. You can try the mix, but definitely there are no guarantees that it will work

alright i have looked into salvinis, but have no clue where to get them. Does Rapps have them in stock? And if so what are there scientific name cause im not really good with that
