Jag tankmates

Depends on how big the jag is and how long it has or has not been by himself/herself. I have had mine with a Red Devil, Jack Dempsey, Green Terror, Red Terror, Flowerhorn, Cons, Oscars, etc... It all depends on your fish.
me too....jag,oscars,jack dempsey,severum,bala sharks,birchir,albino redtail shark,pleco,hoplo....but he was 2inches and grew with them now 10inch ish......smallest is albino redtail at 4inch
My male jag has lived alone pretty much his whole life. The only fish he tolerates in his tank is a pleco. Temperment depends on the fish when it comes to a lot of cichlid species. That and of course the size of the tank!
It's going to be a 75 gallon for about 6months then whatever I have in there is going to be moved to a 125 that is 6 foot long. I was thinking about a breeding pair of jags. I have read that if you buy them really small they wont breed untill they are approx. 6 months old anyhow. I would like to keep them with some smaller fish if possable such as something simple like cons, or Jd's possably a couple of firemouth or something.
my 2 are with FM's, pair of JD's, tiro of sajicas, green tex, gt, salvinis, tho.elloiti,cons,clown loaches, balas,nics and redline torpedo barbs. they are moving soon the jags too a 100 with a green tex,gt and rt. iam getting rid of 1 of the jags.
