Hi ,

i am looking to add an arowana or a top dweller fish with my male Jaguar 11”. Did anyone successfully keep any oddball with Jag? Working on 200 gallons and i will add some driftwood and rocks to keep low the aggression. Need to consider that i will add my hoplias in the tank..

Jags can be very agressive it’s a risk I have seen people keep jardinis and leichtardis with them but that is also still a risk a smaller one but still a risk

Depends on the aggression of your jag. A mildly aggressive jag will claim 4 feet of your tank and allow your aro to swim in the remaining area. If this is a 6 foot 200g tank, then the aro will live in about 2 feet area (so basically swimming in a circle, able to get a hold of it's own tail once it gets to 2 feet in size).

For a 200 gallon, Silver Arowana gets too big, you could probably fit a Jardini/leichardti, however they are known to kill all tankmates after they reach over a foot long. Jaguar cichlids are tough too, but I would put my money on the arowana to win that fight. And the tank will also have a hoplias, I think adding an arowana would be too much.
Maybe a pinktail chalceus would be better, they get to a decent size. But it all depends on if your Jaguar wants to share the tank.

I don’t know a lot of stuff about Pink Tails but i will do my research. They seem intresting! Thanks for the answer
