Jag With Torn Fins

Hey

Recently acquired a new jag with some damaged fins. Apparently, he was being kept with 2 other jags that paired off and started picking on him. Does this look like it will grow back? Had him for a few weeks now and no improvement. That said, he didn't eat for a week and still only just starting to build up an appetite.

I have never had any luck with significant tears like the one in the dorsal growing back.

Thats pretty bad. Plenty of clean water and maybe soak his food in some vitamins. It may improve.I haven't seen any grow back when there torn down to the base filaments and all. Nice fish though

looks like it has gone deep enough ... never know... lot of water changes and good food , can turn it around

That looks permanent. He's a good looking fish though.

Don't think that'll grow back. If it bothers you you can try to take a sharp razor and shave along the area. Slight chance it may stimulate the fin to grow back. ive had some success with doing that. Still a great looking fish though.

Haha dang. That's some serious work just to get a piece of a fin to grow back.
That's interesting that works. I never would have thought of that.
