Jag x Oscar?

Hey guys,
Hopefully the title isn't too misleading, I have a 4" Female Jag and 6" Oscar (don't know sex).
My jag has been attempting to pair with the Oscar.
The Jag has dug a pit and every time the Oscar comes near the Jag will shake it's head, rub it's belly on the pit and grab rocks and spit them everywhere.
The Oscar doesn't seem to care though; I was just wondering if this cross has ever happened or if it is even possible? I have searched with no results.
I will post a video of the behavior soon.

I thought so too.
It seems as though the Oscar isn't interested though...
Would you guys think that if the female is jag is interested that makes the Oscar a male?

no. My female jag would do that every couple of weeks just to get rid of the eggs she was carrying.
Its also when they get quite territorial and kill things..
