thats sound about right. my pair breed about every 6-7 weeks. You need at least a 90g just for them. the males get huge.

Oh that must be paradise for them. I dont have any have only caught them in lakes took pics than let go but find them stunning fish.
Actually only caught 3 in a year so dont want yo sound like catching them often.

I'd go with minimum 125 gallon tank to breed them, as there could be fighting that needs a partial divider method for breeding.

How hard is it to raise the fry. Do they fight alot or are they cool with staying together as a group. I have a few ponds and would like to try breeding them if they are so consistant. How old were your when they started breeding successfully?
