I have a jaguar cichlid got it 3 weeks ago and now its 2 inches bigger. I thought it was a male but the last 2 days it has been digging holes in the gravel (maybe getting ready to lay eggs?) He/she is about 6". What u guys think???

With out pics can't make a guess. My boy jag who is a confirmed male digs pits all the time. Jags in my experience love to dig around in the substrate

Agreed looks like a nice little girl. If there is a male present she may be ready to start laying or she's digging for the joy of it lol

Nice fish...reminds me of my old gal. Nice head and jaw shape too. My female would dig massive pits and defend territory with no male present. Enjoy her, they live a long time and are very responsive!

Jags are deceiving. My male looked like that at that size.
