Jags being shy help

I hav a 3 inch jag and he hides when i move around but when im siting still he swims around . How can i change him from being shy ??

Give him time he will come out of his shell. Dim light and/or darker substrate also help smaller fish feel secure.

What size tank is he in. Cause some fish if isolated in smaller tanks can be nervous. You can also spend more time in front of the tank so he gets used to seeing you near the tank and get him more confident hes not in danger. But what it all boils down to is time some dont come out of their shell till they put on some size. He'll come around just be patient.
