My Jags are breeding right now for the 2nd time. Its a pretty cool story because they are the first two fish I bought a year and a half ago. With them I bought two firemouths as well...one firemouth died, but the other one was just a huge "acehole". The Male Jag kept to himself and wasnt aggressive at all....the female was picked on by the surviving firemouth. She was picked on so bad that she quit growing and was pure black. So basically this Firemouth was the dominant fish in my tank all the while my male Jag kept getting bigger. Fast forward to 3 months ago and my male Jag is about 9 inches (from 2) and is now the dominant fish in my tank....when this happened my female jag actually started to grow and have real color. About 2 months ago I come home and I see a bunch of wigglers in my tank....they obviously got eaten.

Now I come home and see the females tube out and the male doing his thing. Not sure Im im going to save these wigglers or let them fend for themselves this time. I didnt think they would breed so quick since I just moved my tank to a new house and swapped gravel for sand. Haha sorry for the long story I just love this hobby

Congrats on the fry As for the fry, unless you truely want to raise some fry for yourself I would just let the fry be. Its a pain in the *** with water changes and food for the fry and on top of that its even harder trying to get rid of them as most lfs won't take them.

I give them blood worms...some Hikiri floating pellets and some New Life Spectrum floating pellets. I used to feel them meal worms, but havent in a long time. Im actually looking into making my own food by blending some new life spectrum flakes and sinking pellets (that none of my fish will eat) with shrimp and veggies.
