Folks I am a neophyte to this forum please explain what JAGS, cubans and motos are

Thanks Sorry a newbee

Cichlids in the paracromis family

Cubans are Nandopsis tetracanthus, not Parachromis.

Jags are Parachromis managuensis.

Motas are Parachromis motaguensis.

All are different species of Central American cichlids, and all are on the more aggressive end of the spectrum.

Jags- parachromis managuense ( CA cichlid)
Cuban - nandopsis tetracanthus ( CA ciclhid)
Motos- can also be some type of fresh water sting ray or if meant
Mota- parachromis motaguense ( CA cichlid)

Dang it ya beat me to it.

There's also a thread on these abbreviations by oddball. I'm just to lazy to go looking for it right now, but should be readily available through the search function
